Jacana Safari Lodge - Luxury Stay in Queen Elizabeth Park

Jacana Safari Lodge is a luxury lodge located inside Queen Elizabeth National Park. It is near the shores of Lake Nyamusingire, the largest crater lake in Uganda, and on the edge of Maramagambo Forest.

The lodge is part of the Geo Lodges group, which has won several awards, and was ranked by the New York Times as one of the best lodges to stay at when visiting Uganda. It was built using African architecture and natural materials such as volcanic rocks, stones, wood, and papyrus.

The lodge offers accommodation in 12 exclusive luxury cottages built in the forest, giving the feel of a treehouse with wide views of the surroundings. Cottages are available as single, double, triple, and family units.

Each room is well furnished with modern amenities including internet, beds, flush toilets, en suite bathrooms, mosquito nets, bedside lamps, electricity, bathtubs, and clothes racks.

Guests can enjoy an outdoor swimming pool to cool off on hot days, along with sun loungers for relaxation. The restaurant serves both local and international meals prepared by experienced chefs.

There is also a fireplace where guests can sit in the evenings, share stories, and enjoy the night sky.

The lodge has friendly and welcoming staff who ensure guests have a comfortable stay. Check-in time is 12:00 pm East African Time, and check-out time is 10:00 am.

Being close to the park, guests can start their safari activities right from the lodge. Game drives offer the chance to see the Big Five mammals, including elephants, lions, leopards, and buffaloes.

Queen Elizabeth National Park is also known for having a large variety of bird species, making bird-watching a popular activity. Some birds found here include the fawn-breasted waxbill, dark-capped yellow warbler, red-tailed bristlebill, and African grey pigeon.

Jacana Safari Lodge is an excellent choice for a safari in the western region of Uganda.
