Kasenyi Safari Camp – Experience Wildlife in Queen Elizabeth Park

Kasenyi Safari Camp is one of the accommodation options in Queen Elizabeth National Park, offering a peaceful stay for travelers who want to experience wildlife up close. The lodge is located on the Kasenyi Plains, along the shores of Lake Bunyampaka.

It is about 45 km from the park’s main gate in Kasese, making it easy to reach by road from Kampala or by air through Kasese Airstrip. Guests at the lodge enjoy wide views of the wild and can spot animals such as lions, buffaloes, elephants, and Uganda kobs, which live in the Kasenyi Plains.

Kasenyi Safari Camp offers eco-friendly cottages built with local materials such as thatch, stones, and wood, using traditional African design. There are two types of cottages: Classic and Deluxe.

Classic cottages are ideal for travelers who want comfort but not luxury. These cottages include en suite bathrooms with hot and cold showers, flush toilets, double beds, clean beddings, mosquito nets, free toiletries, and a private veranda with views of the Savannah.

Deluxe cottages are larger and have more elegant furniture. They also have private bathrooms, hot and cold showers, mosquito nets, king-sized beds, electricity, free toiletries, and private decks where guests can enjoy a sundowner.

In addition to accommodation, the lodge has a restaurant that serves both local and international meals. The food is freshly prepared using ingredients sourced from nearby communities.

Kasenyi Safari Camp is a good starting point for exploring the park. Game drives across the Kasenyi Plains allow guests to see animals such as lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and Uganda kobs.

Another enjoyable activity is a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. It gives guests the chance to see hippos and crocodiles up close while relaxing and enjoying the fresh breeze from the water.

The best time to visit is during the dry season, from June to August and December to February, as these months are ideal for game viewing.

Kasenyi Safari Camp is more than just a place to sleep: it is a gateway to adventure in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
