Twin Lakes Safari Lodge is a mid-range lodge located near the Bunyaruguru Crater Field in Uganda. It sits outside Queen Elizabeth National Park on the open plains at an altitude of about 270 meters. From the lodge, guests can enjoy clear views of the park, the Rwenzori Mountains, and the twin lakes of Lake Edward and Lake George.
The lodge has 9 large cottages that can host around 22 guests. The cottages include different types of rooms such as double, twin, single, honeymoon suites, and family cottages. Family cottages have one double room and two single rooms.
All cottages are built in an African style with modern features in each room. These include en suite bathrooms, flush toilets, hot and cold showers, bathtubs, queen-sized beds, mosquito nets, bedside lamps, and more.
Each cottage has a private veranda where guests can relax while enjoying views of the wild, the Kazinga Channel, and the twin lakes.
Facilities and services at the lodge include a spacious restaurant that serves both local and international meals, 24-hour room service, and a bar with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
There is solar-powered electricity, free Wi-Fi, 24-hour security, and a front desk that is always open. Guests can also enjoy the swimming pool to cool off during hot days.
During your stay at the lodge, you can enjoy many safari activities that bring you close to nature. Bird watching is popular here, as the park has over 600 bird species including the white-headed vulture, black-winged kite, European honey buzzard, African cuckoo hawk, Egyptian vulture, and black-chested snake eagle.
Chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura Gorge is another special activity. This trek takes between 30 minutes and 4 hours and is a very rewarding experience. You can also go on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, where you may see hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and water birds like kingfishers and cattle egrets.
