Topi Lodge – Stay Near Tree-Climbing Lions in Queen Elizabeth Park

Topi Lodge is located just 5 minutes from the southern gate of the Ishasha sector in Queen Elizabeth National Park. It is a great place to see the famous tree-climbing lions and other animals like elephants, buffaloes, and Uganda kobs. While staying at Topi Lodge, guests can relax close to nature and enjoy clear views of the countryside and mountains in the distance.

Topi Lodge has spacious cottages with three types of rooms: single, double, and triple. All rooms are self-contained with large bathrooms that have hot and cold showers and flush toilets. Rooms also have solar-powered electricity, king-sized beds in single rooms, queen-sized beds in double and triple rooms, mosquito nets, clean beddings, a table and chair, and a private veranda where guests can enjoy the view of the wild.

The lodge was built using local materials like wood, grass, reeds for the thatched roofs, stones, and volcanic rocks, making it eco-friendly.

Room rates are as follows:

  • Single room: USD 100 (half board), USD 110 (full board)
  • Double room: USD 160 (half board), USD 180 (full board)
  • Triple room: USD 200 (half board), USD 230 (full board)

Full board includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Half board includes breakfast and dinner only.

The lodge also has a spacious restaurant where guests enjoy fresh meals in the middle of nature. All three meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served at the restaurant. If you would like a packed breakfast or lunch, it is best to book in advance.

During your stay, you can enjoy many safari activities. Game drives in the Ishasha sector give you the chance to see animals like tree-climbing lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and antelopes.

You can also go on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel to relax and see hippos and crocodiles up close near the shores.
