Little Elephants Camp is a mid-range accommodation located on the border of Queen Elizabeth National Park, in the savannah grasslands of Busongora, Muhokya. The camp sits on 31 acres on the slopes of the Rwenzori Mountains.
It can be reached by road from Kampala, Uganda’s capital. The journey takes about 6 hours, covering around 370 km. You can also reach the camp by air, with a one-hour flight from Entebbe International Airport to Kasese Airstrip. Airport pickups and drop-offs are available for guests.
The camp is in a great location with wide views of the park and nearby areas. It has more than 5 cozy and spacious tents that are comfortable for a stay in the wild. The tents have single or twin beds with clean white bedding, blankets, and mosquito nets. Outside each tent are two chairs where guests can relax, enjoy a sundowner, or look out over the park.
The camp has an open restaurant that serves both local and international meals prepared by professional chefs. It offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner at set times. While eating, guests may see animals roaming nearby.
Bush breakfasts and dinners are also offered and are a unique experience worth trying. Other services include free parking, Wi-Fi, housekeeping, and laundry. The camp runs most of its services using solar power.
While staying at the camp, guests can enjoy several activities. Boat cruises on the Kazinga Channel allow visitors to see hippos, crocodiles, African finfoots, kingfishers, and more.
Game drives in the Ishasha sector give chances to see tree-climbing lions, while drives in Kasenyi Plains offer views of buffaloes, elephants, zebras, impalas, and giraffes. Guests can also visit the crater lakes and nearby communities near Leopard Rest Camp.
There are also walking safaris in Maramagambo Forest and chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura Gorge for those who want to explore more.
