Honeybear Bush Camp is located on the southern bank of the Kazinga Channel, inside the Kyambura Game Reserve, which is part of Queen Elizabeth National Park. It is the only accommodation in the Kyambura Game Reserve and gives quick access to Kyambura Gorge. The camp has more than five double en-suite tents, each with an outdoor bucket shower.
The tents are close to the Kazinga Channel, and guests enjoy clear views of the water and its animals, including hippos, crocodiles, and waterbirds. You can also see the Rwenzori Mountains in the distance.
The camp is quiet and peaceful, with sounds from the nearby wildlife. If you want a private place to stay, Honeybear Bush Camp is a good choice.
You do not have to go far to see wild animals. Elephants and zebras often walk near the tents even before you enter the main park. The camp’s restaurant serves good food, and the staff are friendly, welcoming, and professional. Sundowners at the camp are relaxing, giving you time to talk and connect with friends or family.
You can explore the park on foot by joining a chimpanzee trek in Kyambura Gorge. It is best to book your chimp permit early, especially during peak season.
Game drives in the Kyambura Game Reserve offer views of buffaloes, elephants, warthogs, and antelopes. You can also drive to the Ishasha sector to see tree-climbing lions, or to Kasenyi Plains for more wildlife.
Other activities include boat cruises along the Kazinga Channel, walking safaris in Maramagambo Forest to see birds and animals, village visits near the park, and nature walks to the crater lakes.
Honeybear Bush Camp is a good base for exploring the southern part of the park. Be sure to book your accommodation early. Pack light, breathable clothes, binoculars, sunglasses, warm clothes for cold nights, sunscreen, a safari hat, insect repellent, and comfortable boots for walking.
While at the camp, take time to enjoy the moment. You will see birds, monkeys, and other wildlife around you.
Honeybear Bush Camp is quiet, private, and offers many chances to see wildlife up close.
