Rules for Queen Elizabeth National Park Visitors

In is advisable to carefully read through the Queen Elizabeth National Park rules and regulations. In every country you visit, you are expected to respect the rules and laws of that country. Uganda is no different. It is home to Queen Elizabeth National Park, which has many animals such as carnivores, herbivores, reptiles, birds, and more.

When you arrive in Uganda, you will go through immigration to check your documents and make sure you are carrying only what is allowed into the country. After that, you will either head to your hotel or directly to the park, depending on your travel plan with your tour operator.

When you reach Queen Elizabeth National Park, you will be guided through the park rules. If you do not follow them, you may face a fine or serious penalty. The main rules include:

Do not feed the animals

Feeding animals can make them stop looking for their own food. Over time, they may become lazy or starve when visitors are not around. Also, the food you give them might not be safe and could cause health problems or even death. You are encouraged to enjoy watching the animals, but never feed them.

Do not walk alone in the park

Walking alone is very risky. The park has many paths, and it is easy to get lost if you do not know the area. There are also dangerous animals, and only the guides know how to handle such situations. You must always be with a guide and follow their instructions. This helps keep you safe.

Do not leave any trace behind

Some visitors may feel tempted to take plants or small items from the park. This is not allowed. Do not remove anything, and do not leave trash behind. Keep the park natural and clean.

Keep quiet

Silence is important in the park. Loud noises or music can scare away animals and birds. You will have a better chance of seeing wildlife if you stay quiet.

Respect everyone

Do not take photos of local people without asking for their permission. Always respect others’ privacy and space. Be kind and polite to fellow visitors and the community.

We warmly welcome you to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Please enjoy your visit and help us keep the park safe and beautiful.
